The rising tide went out
Collier County added about 14,100 residents in a single year. Between 2024 and 2025 it added 409. Growing in Naples now means taking customers, not waiting for them.

For years, growing a business in Naples took one skill: being open.
Between 2021 and 2022, Collier County added about 14,100 residents. New rooftops meant new customers, and they needed everything at once. A roofer, a dentist, a landscaper, a place for Friday dinner.
Between 2024 and 2025, the county added 409.
New residents in Collier County, per year
That's not a typo. Growth of 0.1%. More people moved out to other U.S. counties than moved in.
Naples is still one of the wealthiest markets in the country, and the money hasn't gone anywhere. What's gone is the free lift. When the population grows 4% a year, an average business grows by standing still. When it grows 0.1%, your next customer already has a provider. You have to take them.
That changes the job
- Know who you're taking share from. Name the three competitors a customer would compare you to, then look at what they see: reviews, photos, response time.
- Keep the customers you have. A repeat customer costs nothing to find. If you have no system for staying in touch, start with one email a month.
- Give people a reason to switch. "Quality service" isn't one. A guaranteed callback time is. So is a price on the website.
- Measure what pays. Calls, bookings and jobs won. Not likes, not reach.
The owners who built their business in the boom aren't wrong about what worked. It just stopped being enough.
A flat market rewards whoever is easiest to find and fastest to answer. Both are fixable this quarter.
See how you stack up.
