How to stop losing leads after 5pm
Most local businesses answer enquiries during business hours. Most customers send them after. Here's how to close that gap without hiring anyone.

Think about when your customers actually have time to look for help: evenings, weekends, lunch breaks. That's when the missed calls, form fills and DMs pile up. By the time you reply the next morning, the customer has often booked with whoever answered first.
Speed beats price more often than you'd think
For most service businesses, the first company to respond with a clear next step wins the job. Not the cheapest, not the biggest. A fast, friendly reply tells the customer you're organised and that you want their business.
What a simple after-hours system looks like
- Missed call? An automatic text goes out within a minute: "Sorry we missed you, how can we help?"
- Website form or DM? An instant reply confirms you got it and asks the one or two questions you always need answered.
- Ready to book? The customer picks a time from your real calendar, no back-and-forth.
- Not ready? A polite follow-up goes out the next day, and again later in the week.
None of this replaces you. It holds the conversation until you're back, and hands you a warm lead with the details already collected.
Start with one channel
You don't need everything at once. Start with missed-call text-back: it's the fastest to set up and usually the biggest leak. Measure how many of those conversations turn into bookings over a month, then add the next channel.
